Bristol airport officially opened in 1930 and has been known under several names since that date and in 1997, the old name Bristol Lulsgate Airport was replaced with Bristol International airport. Flight numbers have been increasing year on year and currently they handle in excess of four million passengers a year.
With one of the shortest international runways in the country, larger aircraft rarely use this location due to the weight restrictions although the airport is able to offer flights to New York. The terminal building does not yet have jetways so aircraft parking on the apron and passengers are required to either walk out to their flights or are carried by bus.
There are a range of parking facilities at the airport including short and long stay options as well as the modern chauffeur style service. Also available are several off-airport car parks so get a quote today as pre-booking and can see savings of up sixty percent.
