Child Assistance Travel Insurance

We will pay if your own child, or a child named on the travelinsurance policy who is in your care, is abducted or disappearsduring your trip.

The Child Assist Helpline provides a 24-hour emergency service 365 days a year. If you need help you can phone them on their helpline number +44 (0)207 748 0060. You must call the helpline as soon as possible after the child goes missing, certainly not morethan 24-hours after the event.

What child assistance you get:

• The services of a professional consultancy group to help the familyof the missing child to deal with the media.
• The services of a professional consultancy group to help the familyof the missing child work with the local, international or Britishpolice forces involved in the case.
• The services of a specialist legal group to represent the family ofthe missing child and give them advice about their legal rights (bothin the country where the child went missing and in your homecountry).
• The services of a private investigation group to help the family ofthe missing child to search for them.
• Setting up and running a website to promote awareness of theabduction (and update the website with developments in the case)until the child is found or for six months, whichever is first. At theend of the six months, the family of the missing child will takecontrol of the site.
• Up to £500 for each 24-hour period to help with theaccommodation, travel and living costs of close relatives to stay inor travel to the place where the child went missing. Cover underthis section is provided up to a maximum of 60 days.
