England is surrounded by the Irish Sea, Celtic Sea, North Sea and the English Channel to the south separating it from continental Europe.
England's terrain mostly comprises of low hills and plains, especially in central and southern England. However, there are mountainous areas in the north and in the south west.
The English capital of London is one of the worlds largest financial centres and most diverse speaking with more than 300 spoken languages. London is also home to four World Heritage Sites: the Tower of London; the Royal Botanic Gardens the site comprising the Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey and St. Margaret's Church; and the historic settlement of Greenwich.
